"Peace can not be obtained under the shadow of nuclear bombs"
By Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich
September 26, 2010 "Information Clearing House"
I was pleasantly surprised when my request for an interview with Mr. Ahmadinejad, Iran's president was accepted. President Ahmadinejad has never shied away from being heard, but these interviews had been exclusive to prominent mainstream media personalities such as Larry King and Charlie Rose. However, it was the mainstream media's projection of Mr. Ahmadinejad that always remained questionable.
On September 21, 2010, on the occasion of President Ahmadinejad's participation at the UN General Assembly, I was given the opportunity to conduct a candid interview with Mr. Ahmadinejad. I had overlooked the fact that such a meeting would be conducted in the presence of the secret service and body guards. No sooner had this reality hit home than Mr. Ahmadinejad's down to earth and easy attitude made me forget the presence of others in the room as we began the session. The time had come for me to verify or refute a research I had conducted as a Public Diplomacy graduate student while attending USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. At that time, I had examined the media's role in fashioning the image of Mr. Ahmadinejad. My research posited that though ‘some great men make history, and history makes some men great’, in an age dominated by the media-- internet, television, radio, and newspapers, the portrayal of Ahmadinejad is an artificial construct of the mainstream media. The image portrayed by the media had made him hero to some and a villain to others. Superstar or scapegoat, the Iranian President continues to dominate the news. With help and questions from university students and professors, I was eager to meet the real Ahmadinejad.
Although a full hour had been granted for the interview (more accurately Q&A), regrettably, given the number of questions and the fact that the translation was not simultaneous, many of the questions were left unanswered. To my amazement, President Ahmadinejad granted me a second, follow-up interview (the transcript of which will be forwarded to participating universities).
It is a rewarding experience to bring one's research to a practical conclusion. I firmly believe that Ahmadinejad is misrepresented by the corporate owned media. I leave it up to others to judge for themselves.

Never give up with the heart”.

Brazil looks likely to elect an extraordinary leader next weekend
By Hugh O'Shaughnessy “The Independent”
The world's most powerful woman will start coming into her own next weekend. Stocky and forceful at 63, this former leader of the resistance to a Western-backed military dictatorship (which tortured her) is preparing to take her place as President of Brazil.
As head of state, president Dilma Rousseff would outrank Angela Merkel, Germany's Chancellor, and Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State: her enormous country of 200 million people is revelling in its new oil wealth. Brazil's growth rate, rivalling China's, is one that Europe and Washington can only envy.
Her widely predicted victory in next Sunday's presidential poll will be greeted with delight by millions. It marks the final demolition of the "national security state", an arrangement that conservative governments in the US and Europe once regarded as their best artifice for limiting democracy and reform. It maintained a rotten status quo that kept a vast majority in poverty in Latin America while favouring their rich friends
Ms Rousseff, the daughter of a Bulgarian immigrant to Brazil and his schoolteacher wife, has benefited from being, in effect, the prime minister of the immensely popular President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the former union leader. But, with a record of determination and success (which includes appearing to have conquered lymphatic cancer), this wife, mother and grandmother will be her own woman. The polls say she has built up an unassailable lead – of more than 50 per cent compared with less than 30 per cent – over her nearest rival, an uninspiring man of the centre called Jose Serra. Few doubt that she will be installed in the Alvorada presidential palace in Brasilia in January.
Like President Jose Mujica of Uruguay, Brazil's neighbour, Ms Rousseff is unashamed of a past as an urban guerrilla which included battling the generals and spending time in jail as a political prisoner. As a little girl growing up in the provincial city of Belo Horizonte, she says she dreamed successively of becoming a ballerina, a firefighter and a trapeze artist. The nuns at her school took her class to the city's poor area to show them the vast gaps between the middle-class minority and the vast majority of the poor. She remembers that when a young beggar with sad eyes came to her family's door she tore a currency note in half to share with him, not knowing that half a banknote had no value.
Her father, Pedro, died when she was 14, but by then he had introduced her to the novels of Zola and Dostoevski. After that, she and her siblings had to work hard with their mother to make ends meet. By 16 she was in POLOP (Workers' Politics), a group outside the traditional Brazilian Communist Party that sought to bring socialism to those who knew little about it.
The generals seized power in 1964 and decreed a reign of terror to defend what they called "national security". She joined secretive radical groups that saw nothing wrong with taking up arms against an illegitimate military regime. Besides cosseting the rich and crushing trade unions and the underclass, the generals censored the press, forbidding editors from leaving gaps in newspapers to show where news had been suppressed.
Ms Rousseff ended up in the clandestine VAR-Palmares (Palmares Armed Revolutionary Vanguard). In the 1960s and 1970s, members of such organisations seized foreign diplomats for ransom: a US ambassador was swapped for a dozen political prisoners; a German ambassador was exchanged for 40 militants; a Swiss envoy swapped for 70. They also shot foreign torture experts sent to train the generals' death squads. Though she says she never used weapons, she was eventually rounded up and tortured by the secret police in Brazil's equivalent to Abu Ghraib, the Tiradentes prison in Sao Paulo. She was given a 25-month sentence for "subversion" and freed after three years. Today she openly confesses to having "wanted to change the world".
In 1973 she moved to the prosperous southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, where her second husband, Carlos Araujo, a lawyer, was finishing a four-year term as a political prisoner (her first marriage with a young left-winger, Claudio Galeno, had not survived the strains of two people being on the run in different cities). She went back to university, started working for the state government in 1975, and had a daughter, Paula.
In 1986, she was named finance chief of Porto Alegre, the state capital, where her political talents began to blossom. Yet the 1990s were bitter-sweet years for her. In 1993 she was named secretary of energy for the state, and pulled off the coup of vastly increasing power production, ensuring the state was spared the power cuts that plagued the rest of the country.
She had 1,000km of new electric power lines, new dams and thermal power stations built while persuading citizens to switch off the lights whenever they could. Her political star started shining brightly. But in 1994, after 24 years together, she separated from Mr Araujo, though apparently on good terms. At the same time she was torn between academic life and politics, but her attempt to gain a doctorate in social sciences failed in 1998.
In 2000 she threw her lot in with Lula and his Partido dos Trabalhadores, or Workers' Party which set its sights successfully on combining economic growth with an attack on poverty. The two immediately hit it off and she became his first energy minister in 2003. Two years later he made her his chief of staff and has since backed her as his successor. She has been by his side as Brazil has found vast new offshore oil deposits, aiding a leader whom many in the European and US media were denouncing a decade ago as a extreme left-wing wrecker to pull 24 million Brazilians out of poverty. Lula stood by her in April last year as she was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer, a condition that was declared under control a year ago. Recent reports of financial irregularities among her staff do not seem to have damaged her popularity.
Ms Rousseff is likely to invite President Mujica of Uruguay to her inauguration in the New Year. President Evo Morales of Bolivia, President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela and President Fernando Lugo of Paraguay – other successful South American leaders who have, like her, weathered merciless campaigns of denigration in the Western media – are also sure to be there. It will be a celebration of political decency – and feminism.

Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has changed its looks in the era of Songun thanks to the painstaking efforts of the army and people.
Echoes of Ulrim Falls, horizon of the Handre Plain, sea of potato flowers in Taehongdan, bright lights on River Jangja, fairyland of Poman-ri and many other scenic views have appeared in the country in the Songun era.
Remarkable achievements have also been made in economic sectors.
Juche-based iron-making methods have been applied to the Chollima Steel Complex, the Songjin Steel Complex, the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, and production processes of industrial establishments have been put on the CNC basis.
The Namhung Youth Chemical Complex and the February 8 Vinalon Complex have massproduced fertilizers and vinalon fibers respectively.
The Taegyedo tideland reclamation project was completed in June, bringing about farms, salterns and fish breeding grounds, as well as a ring-shaped road on the dyke.

Pyongyang, September 27 (KCNA) -- The Workers' Party of Korea is the party which has become an ideologically pure organization and an organizationally integral whole and achieved perfect unity in action, taking the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il as a lifeline. Rodong Sinmun Monday says this in a signed article.
It goes on:
The recent meetings of delegates of the WPK for electing the delegates to its conference elected
Kim Jong Il as a delegate to the conference reflecting the unanimous will and desire of all the party members and servicepersons and people.
This was a manifestation of all the servicepersons and people's profound reverence and absolute trust in him and, at the same time, a striking demonstration of the militant might of the WPK all members of which are rallied close behind the leader organizationally and ideologically.
The invincibility of the WPK finds its expression in that it has a large contingent of its members ready to devotedly defend their leader, sharing intention and destiny with the leader, and it has become the most solid and ideologically pure organization based on the Juche idea, the Songun idea.
It also finds its manifestation in that the whole party is faithfully translating the intentions and determinations of the leader into realities in a do-or-die spirit.
The WPK remains so strong as its ranks are made up of ardent loyalists who unhesitatingly dedicate their lives to devotedly defending the headquarters of the revolution, sharing idea and intention and fate with the leader.
The last instructions of Kim Il Sung and the determinations of Kim Jong Il are being successfully translated into shining realities in every work site for effecting a great surge as there are millions of party members taking the lead in making breakthroughs in advance in the spirit of becoming human bombs, regarding his ideas and intentions as valuable truth in their life and struggle.

R. Arzinger

Muslims in Italy have written to the country's president Giorgio Napolitano claiming their constitutional rights are being violated by the anti-immigrant policies of the Northern League party.
A lack of mosques and halal food outlets in the north were especially serious problems, said the letter to Napolitano, written by the union of Islamic communities in Italy (UCOII). Adnkronos International received a copy of the letter.
"I write to you as the custodian and guarantor of the Italian constitution the Italian's Republic's highest judge, to draw to your attention the day-to-day difficulties faced by Muslims in a large area of the country," said the letter signed by UCOII's president Ezzeddin Elzir.
Law-abiding Muslim immigrants and foreign residents who have strived to integrate in Italy's northern regions and who do not present any real security threat, are being treated as second-class citizens, according to UCOII.
"Chiefly in the north of Italy, their religious freedom and personal dignity, upheld by the constitution and international conventions to which our country is a signatory, are gravely compromised," the letter continued.
The letter did not specifically name the Northern League, which control several regions and most local councils in the north of Italy, but referred to "a certain political hostility made worse by the irresponsible action of certain local administrations."
"Fundamental rights are being denied, such as places of worship and the availability of food prepared according to Muslim precepts," the letter stated.
"There is barely a Muslim community in northern Italy that does not come up against outright bans on mosques arrogantly imposed by local councils who malevontly invoke petty local bylaws to deny a basic constitutional freedom."
UCOII asked for specific intervention from Napolitano over a school in Adro, in the Lombardy province of Brescia that has said it will only exempts Muslim pupils from eating pork if they have an allergy to it or on other health grounds.

TEHRAN - Iranian information technology officials have confirmed that some Iranian industrial systems have been targeted by a cyber attack, but added that Iranian engineers are capable of rooting out the problem.
According to Associated Press, a complex computer worm dubbed Stuxnet has infected many industrial sites in Iran and is capable of taking over power plants.
The director of the Information Technology Council of the Industries and Mines Ministry has announced that the IP addresses of 30,000 industrial computer systems infected by this malware have been detected, the Mehr New Agency reported on Saturday.
“An electronic war has been launched against Iran,” Mahmoud Liaii added.
“This computer worm is designed to transfer data about production lines from our industrial plants to (locations) outside of the country,” he said.
He also announced that a working group composed of representatives from the Communications and Information Technology Ministry, the Industries and Mines Ministry, and the Passive Defense Organization has been set up to find ways to combat the spyware.
Communications and Information Technology Minister Reza Taqipour stated that Iranian engineers possess the expertise to create the required anti-virus software to clean the malware-infected systems.
Taqipour also said that no crashes or serious damage to the country’s industrial computer systems have been reported so far.
Stuxnet is a computer worm that attacks industrial systems and spies on them and reprograms them.
Reportedly, a state may have been involved in creating it and using it against Iran.
Kevin Hogan, the senior director of security response at Symantec, told Reuters on Friday that 60 percent of the computers worldwide infected by the so-called Stuxnet worm are in Iran, which indicates that the country’s industrial plants were the original target.
“It’s pretty clear that, based on the infection behavior, that installations in Iran are being targeted,” Hogan said
Call For Scientific 9-11 Investigation
By Dr Gideon Polya
The 9-11 atrocity killed 3,000 people but the subsequent US-led war on Terror has killed 8 million people, the breakdown being 2.5 million (Iraq), 4.5 million (Afghanistan) and 0.8 million global opiate drug-related deaths linked to US Alliance restoration of the Taliban-destroyed Afghan opium industry. Obama and his Western lackeys have abusively rejected Ahmadinejad's sensible call for a scientific investigation of who did 9-11, thereby making the genocidal US Alliance an accessory after the fact of the 9-11 atrocity… ... ....
… Commercial and government TV “news” programs in pro-Zionist, pto-war, pro-carbon pollution Apartheid Australia have been falsely reporting that Ahmadinejad was claiming that the US did 9-11 – no, he was simply stating that many people believe this and that there should be a proper scientific investigation of the 3 major hypotheses, specifically (1) that the US didn't do 9-11, (2) that the US did 9-11 and (3) the permitted 9-11 to happen (just as it is now recognized that the US permitted Pearl Harbor to happen).
President Ahmadinejad, like all leaders, can be legitimately criticized for all sorts of things. However on 9-11 he is correct in demanding a proper scientific inquiry into who did 9-11. Those like war criminal Obama who condemn Ahmadinejad's call for a proper inquiry into 9-11 are in effect calling for an ongoing cover-up and can thus be seen to be witting or unwitting accessories after the fact of the 9-11 atrocity.
Further, the deaths associated with the 9-11 atrocity (3,000) are dwarfed by the 8 million violent deaths and non-violent avoidable deaths in the post-9-11, US-led War on Terror, the breakdown being 2.5 million (Iraq), 4.5 million (Afghanistan) and 0.8 million global opiate drug-related deaths linked to US Alliance restoration of the Taliban-destroyed Afghan opium industry (from 6% of world market share in 2001 to over 90% today) (see “Muslim Holocaust, Muslim Genocide”: https://sites.google.com/site/muslimholocaustmuslimgenocide ).
There is compelling scientific and intelligence evidence that the US did 9-11 and deliberately murdered 3,000 innocent people (very likely with Israeli complicity) – but we obviously don't know for certain who exactly did it. However there is absolutely no doubt about the culpability of US-linked Western political leaders in the 8 million deaths associated, so far, with the ongoing Iraqi Holocaust, Iraqi Genocide, Afghan Holocaust, Afghan Genocide and Muslim Holocaust that are “outrageously”, “unacceptably”, “hatefully', “offensively” and “inexcusably” ignored by the holocaust-complicit, holocaust-ignoring and holocaust-denying Mainstream Western media and politicians.
A sensible way to publicly get to the truth about 9-11 as advocated by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad would be war crimes trials before the International Criminal Court (ICC) of US Alliance leaders associated with the ongoing Muslim Holocaust and with charges including, as appropriate, complicity in 9-11 or being accessories after the fact of 9-11. George Bush, Tony Blair, Barack Obama, Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Nicolas Sarkozy, Stephen Harper, Angela Merkel, John Howard, Kevin Rudd, Julia Gillard, their “we were just obeying orders” subordinates and their Mainstream media collaborators should all be arraigned before the International Criminal Court.
Mainstream media and politician ignoring of the 8 million victim carnage of the US War on Terror is, to use the words of Obama and his lackeys, outrageous unacceptable, hateful, offensive and inexcusable. Peace is the only way but silence kills and silence is complicity – tell everyone you know.

It may be old hat to repeat the charge that Russia is not a reliable partner for Iran, but recent events have shown that Tehran may need to reassess its relationship with Moscow.
From time to time since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Russia has tried to pretend that it has distanced itself from Stalinist era tendencies, but Moscow returns to its old habits whenever it deems such a move is in its national interests.
Russian Chief of Staff General Nikolai Makarov’s recent pronouncement, in which he said, “Russia will not deliver S-300 air defense missiles to Iran as planned because such transfers are prohibited under UN sanctions,” is an example of this.
However, Russia’s delay in delivering the S-300 missile system to Iran had already aroused suspicions that Moscow would ask Iran for more money for the missile system, with the help of its political agents and arms dealers.
But it would be unacceptable if Russia unilaterally canceled the contract.
However, what makes the situation worse is the fact that this measure shows that the “superpower of yesterday” has bowed to the pressure of the Zionist regime, a regime which still has difficulty justifying its existence to Middle Eastern states and the rest of the world and is the archenemy of Iran and all Muslims.
In addition, the military cooperation agreement signed by the defense ministers of Russia and Israxl on September 9 casts doubt on the future of Tehran-Moscow military cooperation.
Yet, paradoxically, in analyzing Iran-Russia relations, there are still some people in Iran who want to believe the glass is half full.
Although Russia may be able to make some small improvements in its military through the deal with Israxl, Russian officials should reflect upon the fact that they are sacrificing their long-term interests for short-term gains.
Russia could also prove its trustworthiness to the world by honoring the contract to sell Iran the S-300 missile system

Islam is hardly out of the news these days.
In fact, this has been the case for many years, and mostly for the wrong reasons. In the last couple of weeks, the world media were frantically busy, awaiting developments and reactions to the call by the pastor of a small church in Florida who wanted to burn copies of the Quran. The pastor achieved all he had coveted of publicity. His face became recognizable throughout the world’s five continents. How could the media fail to give him that when he called for an “international day” to be marked by bonfires in which the Qur’an provided the main fuel? The fact that no one anywhere in the world, including the pastor’s own parishioners, came forward in support of the idea was lost on the media.
Yet the pastor succeeded in linking his endeavor to the proposed building of an Islamic center on a piece of land which lies a few hundred yards away from the site of Ground Zero, where the World Trade Center stood before it was destroyed in an attack blamed on Muslims. Thus he was able to show himself as responding to provocation, rather than the instigator of provocation. Indeed, there was absolutely no linkage between his call and the choice of the location of the proposed Islamic center. However, the choice of location is wrong for the very reason of its being easily manipulated by such hate preachers as the Florida priest.
In a world that has come to associate Islam with terrorism, which is a totally false association, Muslims should be very careful, making sure to steer away from whatever could be exploited to stir emotions against their faith. There might have been all the right justification for the Islamic center to be built on that spot of land. Yet when someone comes up with an outrageous idea like burning the Quran and links it with the building of the center, the sound justification is lost and the controversy rages on.
I cannot but wonder at the comments that were made by some American politicians and army generals on the call to burn the Quran. Many of them only said that such an event would expose American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan to greater danger. They saw the event only through this narrow angle. They failed to address the right issue of the need to spread love and peace, rather than hate and antagonism. The all-important value of respecting other people’s freedom, beliefs, and sanctities did not feature in their discourse.
We Muslims have become accustomed to such lopsided vision of Western politicians. The Florida priest could have ensured better success for his hate campaign had he thought of inviting Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, to inaugurate his bonfire. In all probability, she would have canceled some of her engagements to find time for such an unmissable event. Last week, she presented an award to the Danish cartoonist who stirred a great wave of protest in the Muslim world and elsewhere when he published unsavory cartoons painting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in bad light. Those who chose to give the award to the cartoonist professed to be supporting freedom of speech and expression. As a writer, and as a Muslim, I unequivocally support such freedom. Yet neither the cartoonist nor those honoring him appear to be consistent with the universal value that the exercise of one’s rights must not represent a violation of the rights of others. It is the right of all people to have their beliefs and sanctities respected. It is not right to give offense to millions under the pretext of freedom of expression. Many writers and academics wrote criticism of Islam and no one stirred a finger at them. However, people like the Danish cartoonist, Salman Rushdie, and the Florida priest are of a different type. They are preachers of hate, like some fringe groups of Muslims who advocate terrorist action. Such people should be clearly told, by all supporters of freedom throughout the world, that fueling the fire of hate is contrary to all sound values, religious and secular alike.
Where does the German chancellor stand on all this? What is baffling is that for an astute politician, there seems to be something unbalanced in her attitude on questions relating to Islam. She can certainly understand the anger of Muslims throughout the world at the publication of the Danish cartoons in several Western papers. Muslims all over the world did not find the argument of freedom of expression relevant to the desecration of their sanctities. Why should she refuel the controversy by honoring the culprit cartoonist? Surely she knows that her action plays into the hands of extremists. Maybe that is what she wants!
Fourteen centuries ago, Islam laid down a principle that remains binding on all Muslims for the rest of time: They must not abuse the sanctities of other people even though those people may be guilty of the worst offense of all, namely, attributing divinity to anyone other than God. The Quran gives us the following clear order: “Do not revile those whom they invoke instead of God, lest they revile God out of spite, and in ignorance. Thus have We made the actions of every community seem goodly to them. Then to their Lord shall they all return, and He will explain to them all that they have been doing.” (6: 108)

Morning Star 10 09 21
In a detailed historical journey, Mark Curtis charts Britain's intimate involvement in the promotion of Muslim individuals and Islamic states as tools for its own imperial ambitions.
It used Islam in a blatant divide-and-rule tactic from the time of the Raj onwards and Curtis amply demonstrates a continuous and intimate marriage of convenience between Britain and various Islamic forces over three centuries.
After Britain's long-time support of the Ottoman Empire as a bulwark against Tsarist Russia and to protect its East Indian trade routes it soon sought alternative allies once the Turks had unexpectedly entered the first world war on the side of Germany. Britain then proceeded to find a suitable and subservient proxy from among the tribal groups of central Arabia.
In the1920s it discovered Ibn Saud as an ideal candidate for leadership and gave him sole control over Saudi Arabia.
He proceeded to assert this in one of the most bloody repressions the region had experienced, killing over 40,000 Arab tribesmen and women and amputating the limbs of 350,000 more.
This led to the complete domination of the Saud family in the region to this day and assured Britain of a steady flow of oil and the family's complete support from Britain in the maintenance of its brutal and obscurantist regime.
It also led to the spread of the divisive and backward-looking faction of Islam called Wahabism - the founding ideology of modern jihad.
Throughout the region Britain has always propped up elements of the ruling classes against the democratic and nationalist aspirations of the people.
Curtis provides a long list of such tactics from Egypt, Afghanistan and Persia to Turkmenistan.
This history is little known and rarely discussed in academic circles and it will come as a surprise to many to see how Britain has meddled in Islamic affairs over such a long and continuous period.
And, although it would be foolish to blame Britain solely for the present resurgence of Islamic extremism or terrorism, it is certainly not the innocent bystander it paints itself.
Britain has continuously provided covert support to Muslim guerrilla forces to counteract the spread of Soviet influence in Persia, Turkey and Afghanistan, as well as in Kosovo.
Curtis concludes with the present day chaos in Iraq and Afghanistan, showing how Britain and the US are very much to blame for what unravelled there even before they chose to invade.
He names the "heroic" Afghan guerilla leaders who fought Soviet forces and who were backed and armed by Britain and the US only to then set up the Taliban regime and become "the enemy."
Pakistan was also given massive military and financial support over many years as a bulwark against Soviet influence in the region and to counteract India, seen as pro-Soviet and unreliable. This policy and Pakistan's involvement in Afghanistan has also contributed to the present political instability and violence there.
This is a fascinating, well written and researched book.
And it is a must-read for anyone who wishes to better understand the rise of Islamic fundamentalism and Britain's key role in its ascent.
Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -- The Japanese Sankei Shimbun and Yomiuri Shimbun are busy spreading wild rumors, echoing the diatribes of the Japanese right-wing reactionaries to exclude at any cost the Korean schools under the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) from the government's tuition-free program for senior high schools.
Sankei Shimbun claimed that the application of the above-said program to the Korean schools means "providing Japan's public funds to the schools under the DPRK's system" while Yomiuri Shimbun complained that "the Korean schools have strong ties with Chongryon," asserting that "the funds to be given to those schools under that program should not be illegally remitted to the DPRK".
As already known, the Korean schools in different parts of Japan have enrolled all the children of Koreans in Japan to help them grow to be persons of intellect having national consciousness and qualifications required by a modern society and strictly observed the same laws and regulations regarding the contents of education and operation of schools as other foreign schools have done.
The Koreans in Japan have the same obligation to pay taxes as the Japanese people do. Therefore, it is quite clear that the Japanese authorities should naturally give a share of them to the national education of Koreans in Japan.
The Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology might have worked out a budget on the premises that the tuition-free program is applied to the Korean schools as is the case with Japanese senior high schools and other foreign schools.
But the application of the above-said program to Korean schools expected to take effect from April was put on hold due to the opposition from the anti-DPRK conservative forces. Prompted by the stand that the application of this program should be considered in the light of "a mere education system," the ministry has set about finally settling the issue in the direction of lifting the measure for excluding the Korean schools from the program.
It is precisely against this backdrop that the Japanese conservative media are getting vociferous in their smear campaign against the measure. This is naturally sparking off criticism from the international public as it is nothing but reckless acts on the part of the reactionary reptile media keen on the smear campaign against the DPRK and Chongryon.
It is a shame on the media that they are cooperating with the ultra-right conservative forces even in the matter of educating youngsters, departing from their mission to lead social development and civilization.
Looking back on history, Sankei Shimbun and other conservative media of Japan have done every conceivable wrong, taking the lead in the Japanese reactionaries' anti-DPRK propaganda as pseudo media subservient to power.
Lurking behind this behavior is the sinister intention of the reactionary reptile newspapers steeped in bitterness towards the DPRK and national chauvinism.
The Korean students in Japan are the descendants of the Koreans who were forcibly taken to Japan by the Japanese imperialists in the past and the Korean schools where they study are the legitimate institutions for national education operating with the permission of the Japanese government. Japan is under the obligation to legally and morally respect and ensure the right of the Korean students to national education in the light of the crimes the Japanese imperialists committed in the past and from an educational point of view.
The issue of including Korean schools in the above-said program should not be regarded as a simple financial issue of giving a petty amount of money to them or not.
It is a matter related to the viewpoint and stand of Japan toward the overseas citizens of a sovereign state and reflects part of the present Japanese authorities' hostile policy toward the DPRK.
The Japanese conservative media's reckless diatribe oblivious of this suggests that they are disqualified to steer the times

Pyongyang, September 20 (KCNA) -To ensure peace on the Korean Peninsula is an urgent task for protecting the destiny of the Koreans in the north and the south and achieving the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
Rodong Sinmun Monday says this in a signed article.
The article cites facts to prove that the U.S. and south Korean warmongers have frantically escalated large-scale war exercises against the DPRK on the peninsula and in waters off it.
The reality calls on all the Koreans at home and abroad to turn out in a nationwide struggle to foil the frantic moves of the domestic and foreign warmongers for a war of aggression against the DPRK and defend peace on the peninsula, the article notes, and goes on:
The struggle for peace against war presents itself as a vital issue of defusing the danger of a new war on the Korean Peninsula and protecting the security of all the Koreans.
The U.S. turned south Korea into a nuclear outpost for invading the DPRK and has stepped up the moves for a war of aggression against it with south Korea as a springboard in pursuance of the wild ambition to dominate the whole of Korea. The south Korean warmongers hell-bent on flunkeyism and sycophancy and confrontation with fellow countrymen are frantically escalating the military stand-off in a bid to harm the DPRK by force of arms, backed by foreign forces.
The reckless war moves of the warlike forces at home and abroad have created such dangerous situation on the peninsula that a war may break out any moment.
If the U.S. and the south Korean warmongers are allowed to go on with such moves for a new war, the Koreans will suffer from it, concludes the article.

Pyongyang, September 18 (KCNA) - The Group of Youth for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea in Vienna issued a bulletin under the title of "On the occasion of the 62nd birthday of the DPRK" on Sept. 9, which carried a picture of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
Stressing that the birth of the DPRK would have been unthinkable without the President, the bulletin in an article dealt with the exploits performed by him for the liberation of Korea and the foundation of the DPRK.
As the head of state Kim Il Sung devoted his whole life to the reunification of Korea and the cause of socialism, the article said, adding that his revolutionary exploits would remain forever.
It stressed that the DPRK has turned into an invincible bulwark which no formidable enemy dare provoke thanks to the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il and that it would surely emerge a powerful and prosperous country under his leadership
