Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- The meeting of the Secretariat and the meeting of the Directive Committee of the Women's International Democratic Federation (WIDF) closed Monday.
Present at the meetings of the Federation held here from April 19 to 23 were Chairwoman of the WIDF Lorena Pena, members of the leadership of the Federation, women's delegations and delegates of various countries and officials of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea.
The meetings reviewed the work done by the Federation over the last one year to strengthen friendship and solidarity among the world women's organizations and level off the social inequalities of women and defend their rights under the uplifted banner of peace and independence against imperialism and discussed its future action program.
A letter to the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting of the Directive Committee of the WIDF.
The Directive Committee decided to confer the title of an outstanding anti-imperialist revolutionary fighter, a hope of the struggle of world women on the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk for her enormous contribution to the strengthening and development of the Korean women's movement. -0-
